Despicable Me Minion Crochet Pattern (Free)

Decided to share out my Despicable Me Minion crochet pattern and finally found time to write it here =D

Materials:
All yarn threads are assumed to be of the same thickness.
Yellow yarn
Blue yarn
Grey yarn
White yarn
Black yarn
Light yellow/beige thread
Stuffing


Abbreviations:
sc - single crochet
sc inc - single crochet increase
sc dec - single crochet decrease
ss - slip stitch
ch - chain
hdc - half double crochet


Head & Body
With yellow yarn,
Rnd 1: 6sc into magic ring
Rnd 2: sc inc x 6 times
Rnd 3: (sc inc, sc) x 6 times
Rnd 4: (sc inc, 2 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 5: (sc inc, 3 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 6: (sc inc, 4 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 7: (sc inc, 5 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 8 - Rnd 23 (16 rnds): sc all around
*Note: Sew the hair around halfway making the 16 rounds
Rnd 24: (sc dec, 5 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 25: (sc dec, 4 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 26: (sc dec, 3 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 27: (sc dec, 2 sc) x 6 times
*Put in the stuffing
Rnd 28: (sc dec, sc) x 6 times
Rnd 29: (sc dec) x 6 times
Fasten off and sew the hole close


Arms
(Make 2)
With yellow yarn
Rnd 1: 4 sc into magic ring
Rnd 2: (sc inc, sc) x 2
Rnd 3 - Rnd 12 (10 rnds): sc all around


Gloves
(Make 2)
With black yarn,
Rnd 1: 4 sc into magic ring
Rnd 2: (sc inc, sc) x 2
Rnd 3 - Rnd 4 ( 2 rnds): sc all around
Rnd 5: sc inc all around
Fasten off
*If making thumb,
with black yarn,
Attach to any stitch between first row and 2nd row from the open end of the hands and ch 2


Stick the closed end of the arms into the gloves and sew them together


Overalls
Body of Overalls
With blue yarn,

Rnd 1: 6sc into magic ring
Rnd 2: sc inc x 6 times
Rnd 3: (sc inc, sc) x 6 times
Rnd 4: (sc inc, 2 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 5: (sc inc, 3 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 6: (sc inc, 4 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 7: (sc inc, 5 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 8: (sc inc, 6 sc) x 6 times
Rnd 9 - Rnd 12 (4 rnds): sc all around
*Note: working in rows now
Row 13 - Row 16: 12 sc, ch 1, turn
Fasten off
Count 12 stitches from one end of the overall flap (made from the 4 rows above), start on the 13th stitch:
Row 13 - Row 16:12 sc, ch 1, turn
Fasten off

Overall Straps
(Make 2)
With blue yarn,
Row 1: ch 17
Row 2: sc from 2nd stitch until end
*Note: you can attempt to make a better estimate of the length of the straps by placing the overalls and the straps onto the yellow body


Overalls legs
(Make 2)
With blue yarn,
Row/Rnd 1: ch 8 and ss to make a ring
Rnd 2: sc all around in outside loops only
Rnd 3: (sc inc, 2 sc) x 4 times


Overalls Pocket
With blue yarn,
Row 1: ch 5, turn
Row 2: sc into 2nd stitch, hdc, hdc, sc, ch 1, turn
Row 3: 4 sc, ch 1, turn,
Row 3: 4 sc
Fasten off


Overalls Pocket Logo
With black yarn,
5 sc into magic ring, ss, fasten off
With blue yarn,
sew the logo pattern (looks like a diamond G) onto the black circle


Sew the logo onto the pocket


Boots:
(Make 2)
With black yarn,
ch 4, begin rnd 1 with 2nd stitch
Rnd 1: 2 sc, 3 sc in 1 stitch (make a turning here), 1 sc, 3 sc in 1 stitch
Rnd 2: 3 sc, 3 sc in 1 stitch, 3 sc, 3 sc in 1 stitch
Rnd 3 (in back loops only): 3 sc, dec, dec, 6 sc
Rnd 4: 2 sc, dec, dec, 3 sc, ss
Fasten off


Stuff the boots and sew it to the legs
Sew the legs to the bottom of the overalls
Sew the straps onto the overalls
At the parts where the straps is attached to the overalls, use a little black yarn to make a small line (to make it like there is a black button there)


Sew the overalls onto the body
Sew the arms onto the body


Eyes
(Make 2)
With white yarn,
Rnd 1: 6 sc into magic ring
Rnd 2: sc inc all around
ss and fasten off


With black yarn,
ch1, fasten off and sew to the white circle


With grey yarn,
Rnd 1: ss into each of the white stitch
Rnd 2: sc all around


Sew the 2 eyes together side by side


Strap of goggles
With black yarn ch 34
*Note: it is more accurate to place the eyes on the body and measure the length of black strap needed


Sew the strap of goggles onto the eyes and sew the eyes onto the body
Sew the mouth with a beige/light yellow thread

  5. I have a question about the pattern. I'm down to round 8. Then it says Rnd 8-Rnd 23 (16 Rnds) That part I do not understand. Does it mean you can do 23 or 16?

      It means do single crochet from round 8 to round 23 (which adds up to a total of 16 rounds)

      The videos are great and I had personally learnt from them when I just started out :)

      I think this is a faster way than me making a youtube video as I do not have any idea how to make a video tutorial and will possibly take ages to make one :P
